Despite the fallout from the 2008 crisis and the difficulties faced by France in coping with a challenging economic situation, this latest Giving Report produced by the Fondation de France’s Philanthropy & Society Observatory paints a very positive picture. The number of donors remains at 56% of those aged 15 and over, and monetary donations are not disappearing, even if they are being channelled elsewhere. The significant increase in tax incentives for donations, following the August 2003 law on patronage, associations and foundations, is very likely supporting this stability in times of crisis.
