A journey through France’s foundations
Since 2001, every four years, the Philanthropy Observatory has conducted a major national study on foundations and endowment funds. In response to the sector’s rapid growth, it is launching a new annual barometer that publishes up-to-date and reliable data, with this year’s edition focusing on regional philanthropy.
This first barometer has revealed that the number of foundations is growing at a steady pace across all regions, with a 4% increase in the number of foundations each year over the past 10 years. The regions of Île-de-France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur have the highest concentration of foundations.
